%Wolf S ECOR —
Ms. Vicky McCartney
September 15, 2003
Page 8
surveyed wellhead elevations, latitude and longitude coordinates of the wells,
and depth to water measurements obtained from the wells prior to sampling, a
potentiometric surface map will be constructed, and the off-site groundwater flow
direction and hydraulic gradient will be determined.
• Soil and Water Disposal. Soil cuttings generated during drilling operations will
be temporarily stored on-site and covered with plastic sheeting pending
characterization and disposal. Soil cuttings will be removed and transported by a
ConocoPhillips' disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal facility. Water
generated during the steam cleaning of drilling equipment during the installation
and development of the wells will be temporarily stored on-site in California State
Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved 55-gallon drums also pending
transport by ConocoPhillips' disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal
facility. Soil cuttings and rinsate/purge water drums will be temporarily stored on-
site for approximately 4 to 8 weeks.
• Report. Following the completion of well installation activities, SECOR will
submit a report documenting the findings of the investigation. The report will
include soil boring logs, permits, soil and groundwater analytical results, chain-of-
custody documentation, and conclusions.
SCHEDULE
SECOR is prepared to initiate the coordination of fieldwork activities, following approval of the revised
]RAP and work plan for OS well installation/additional off-site assessment by the SJCEHD, and
following the receipt of necessary permits. A report documenting the findings of the assessment will
be submitted approximately six to eight weeks following the completion of fieldwork activities and
upon receipt of laboratory analytical data. It is anticipated that construction and start-up of the OS
system will be completed in approximately 3 months.
l
If there are any questions, please call us at (916) 861-0400.
Sincerely,
SECOR International, Incorporated
Iwl l ff'f J,cd 1VV pROfESS..
Kristen Flesoras `G
Project Scientist cc NO,C 058399 rn
f Exp,
>rr
^_ `xq CMt-
us y enkosky, P. QFC4L1i0P
Senior Engineer
I:1ConocoPhi11ips\Tosco Marketing1111931Reports\Revised IRAP&wP.doc
