6ETTLER - RYAN /NC.`r- 1P � � 00 ji13 PM J* 36 June 12, 2000 Ms Carol Oz San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor Stockton, CA 95202 Subjt ct: Tosco (Former BP Oil) Station No 11193 3202 Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA Dear Ms Carol Oz At the request of Tosco Marketing Company (Tosco), Gettler-Ryan Inc (GR) has prepared this letter in response to your April 19, 2000, correspondence regarding the subject site The purpose of this letter is to address your comments, numbered 1 and 4 The information you requested(in comment 1)is attached The work plan involves the use of a truck mounted vacuum pump This pump will not be installed in the well A hose will provide the connection between the pump and the groundwater in wells MW-1 and MW-2 The groundwater will pass through the pump and into a tankcr truck for delivery to the Tosco refinery The pump model is RFL 100, manufactured by Mannesman Demag Technical data for the RFL 100 provided by Onyx Industrial Services, Inc (Onyx) is enclosed with this letter However, Onyx has informed GR that operating rates up to 170 gallons per minute have been observed in the field - With reference to comment 4, GR is dependent on the schedule of BP Oil Company's consultant, Cambria Environmental Technologies, Inc for the reconstruction of wells MW-1 and MW-2 This work must be completed before GR can initiate the proposed groundwater sampling and pumping activities Their schedule may delay the implementation of our scope of work beyond the 60 day condition you mention in comment 4 If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at (925) 551-7555 Sincerely, Gettler-Ryan Inc W Skip McIntosh Staff Geologist Enclosure Technical Data 1, RFL 100 Vacuum Pump f 3 . cc Mr David J Camille, Tosca Marketing Company 140205 Oa 6747 Sierra Court , Suite J • Dublin , California 94568 ( 925 ) 551 -7555
