By letter dated February 27, 2009, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(EHD) recommended that you.request access to collect groundwater samples for metal analysis
from monitoring wells screened in the same depth interval as the ozone injection wells and down
gradient of the injection well(s) at the adjacent ConocoPhiilips 76 (former BP) .Service Station
No. 11 193at 3202 West Hammer Lane, Stockton. If analytical, results indicated that groundwater
quality would not be adversely affected, and if it could be .demonstrated that your site and the
ConocoPhiilips site have similar hydrogeological characteristics, then an ozone bench-scale study
may not be necessary. The EHD requested a response by March 31, 2009; however, to date, the
EHD has not received comments concerning these recommendations, The EHD believes this
evaluation may save considerable time and expense and requests a response by July 27,2009.
To comply with the State Water Resources Control Board Resolution No. 2009-0042, the EHD
. approves the semi-annual monitoring and sampling of monitoring.,wells MW-1, MW-2, and
MW-5. Biennially sample MW-3, MW-4, and MW-6. Analyze groundwater samples collected
from MW-1 for total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPHg); benzene, toluene,
ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), and tertiary-butyl
alcohol (TBA). Analyze groundwater samples collected from the remaining wells for TPHg,
MTBE,and TBA.
