w
1 Ms Vicki McCartney Project No 880-040 IA
•
January 30, 2404
1 Page 3
GROUNDWATER MONITORING
On January 12, 2004, groundwater samples and depth to water data were collected from
' monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-5 Groundwater samples were analyzed for the
presence of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene,
' ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and for five gasoline oxygenates, MTBE, d>-isopropyl
ether (DIPE), ethyl tert-butyl ether (ETBE), tert-amyl methyl ether (TAME), and
tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) using U S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Methods
8015GRO/8021 and 8260B Field and laboratory procedures are presented in
Attachment A Certified analytical reports, chain-of-custody documentation, and field
rdata sheets are presented in Attachment B
10
f3alQ
F
F i rQuarter Groundwater Monitoring Results
Groundwater elevation at the site increased approximately 0 79 feet since the previous
sampling event conducted on October 13, 2003 During the first quarter groundwater
flow was to the north-northeast at an average gradient of 0 001 ft/ft, which is consistent
with previous sampling events Groundwater elevation data are presented in Table 1
A groundwater elevation contour map based on the January 12, 2004, data is shown on
Figure 1
TPHg range hydrocarbons were reported in wells MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations of
3,000 and 200 micrograms per liter (gg/L), respectively Benzene was reported in wells
MW-1 and MW-4 at concentrations of 600 and 2 8 µg11, respectively MTBE was
reported in all wells sampled at concentrations ranging from 15 gg/L in well MW-3, to
5,100 µg/L in well MW-4 TBA was reported in wells MW-1, MW-4, and MW-5 at
concentrations of 4,500, 5,500, and 19,000 and gg/L. Groundwater analytical data are
presented in Table 1 A TPHg, benzene, and MTBE concentration map based on
January 12, 2004, data is shown on Figure 2
Shaw Environmental,Inc
' N\sac DP120041Prr188018800401A 4aa doe
