Slate Family Enterprises, Inc.
Project No. F7132.31 COFO
Page 2 J
the joint Taco Bell/Burger King driveway. The well installation procedure will take about three
hours and then the concrete collar needs to set-up overnight. During this "setting-up"period,the
well is protected from traffic with a small barricade or traffic cone.
As shown on Plate 1, the monitoring well in the joint Taco Bell/Burger King driveway will be
located on the west side of the driveway. This driveway is sufficiently wide so that our well
installation operations should not have a significant impact on traffic flow. The other well is to be
located in the parking area and as such could affect your business. Parking lot monitoring wells
are typically located near the head of a parking space on the white line which separates the parking
spaces. While this location requires the use of three parking spaces during installation, it also
allows use of the parking spaces during the setting-up period as well as future access to the well
while the parking spaces are in use.
To minimize the impact on your business, we can schedule our drilling operations to start at 6:00
or 7:00 a.m. The first well to be installed will be the one located in the parking area. This
scheduling will allow us to be clear of the paiUng area before lunch. As stated before, our
operations in the driveway should not have a significant impact on traffic flow and we should be
finished before dinner. Subsequent operations will involve an initial (one-time) well development
procedure and subsequent quarterly (once every three months) samplings of the groundwater. The
initial development operation will involve one person in a standard van or pickup truck and takes
about two hours per well. This operation can be scheduled around peak business hours. The
quarterly sampling also involves one person in a van or pickup and takes about 1-1/2 hours per
well. As all wells are sampled every quarter(this site presently has five),it will not be difficult to
have the wells on your site sampled around peak business hours.
If this is agreeable with you, please sign and return one original copy of the attached permission
sheet, an additional copy is provided for your records.
