Work Plan For Plume Evaluation
Quik Stop Market No. 132
3555 West Hammer Lane,
Stockton, California
equivalent. The borings will be backfilled to the surface with neat cement slurry after sampling is
completed.
Soil and groundwater grab samples will be analyzed by a California-certified laboratory for TPH-g
by EPA Method 8015K BTEX by EPA Method 8020, and MTBE and other fuel oxygenates by
EPA Method 8260. (Groundwater samples were analyzed for 1,2 dichloroethane (DCA), ethanol,
and methanol during the first quarter 2000 sampling event; none of these compounds were
detected at or above the laboratory detection limits.)
Soil cuttings and decontamination water generated during the investigation will be disposed of
following receipt of the laboratory analytical results. The cuttings and decontamination water will
Cj be transported for disposal or recycling by a licensed hazardous waste hauler.
Task 3.Perform Expanded Well Survey
Further evaluation of the potential receptors will be performed through searching the State GIS
database for drinking water well locations within 5,000 feet of the site. ATC's Work Plan For
Additional Groundwater Investigation dated October 19, 1998 included a well survey for the site.
The well survey was conducted to locate any domestic, municipal, and agricultural wells within
2,000 feet of Quik Stop No. 132. No drinking water wells were identified within the search
radius. The search radius for drinking water wells will be expanded to 5,000 feet. Information on
drinking water wells identified within this search radius will be presented in our report.
Task 4. Evaluate the Contaminant Plume through Compilation of Cross Sections
A great deal of chemical and stratigraphic data has been collected at the site since investigation of
the USTs began in 1987. Nine wells have been completedatthe site along with an additional 11
soil borings and 10 soil gas/groundwater probes. This data has been presented in various site
investigation reports and quarterly groundwater monitoring reports through the years. ATC
believes that the vertical and lateral extent of soil and groundwater contamination at the site has
been sufficiently defined by the data previously collected. In order to demonstrate this more
clearly, maps and cross sections will be compiled to graphically present the existing, and new, site
data.
Boring logs, well construction details, and analytical data from the site will be incorporated into
multiple intersecting site cross sections. The cross sections will be of sufficient scale to show
pertinent well details. The locations of the cross sections will be presented on an index map. All
project work will be performed under the direction of a California Registered Geologist.
Task 5. Prepare an Evaluation Report
A report presenting the results of the UST evaluation, the three additional soil borings, the
expanded well survey and the site cross sections and maps will be prepared. The report will
1:W P\QUKV0RQ5132(0003)\RHP01kIS\1000\W0RKPLAN(X-m dT.&h*(R) -
6
