This addendum is an extension of the work plan for Quik Stop No. 132 submitted <br /> j August 28, 1990. All sampling, soils handling and site safety protocol as noted in the <br /> I original work plan will be followed during work under Addendum B. <br /> k <br /> } SCOPE OF WORK <br /> j Exceltech, Inc. proposes further excavation at Quik Stop No. 132, 3555 West Hammer <br /> (! Lane, Stockton, California (Figure 1). The purpose of the excavation is to remove all <br /> „ contaminated soil from the site. The excavation will include work in the tank area, <br /> further work in the pump island area, and possibly work north of the tank area. The <br /> maximum depth to be excavated will be 16 feet. Figure 2 indicates the maximum area to <br /> be excavated. <br /> Samples taken on October 12, 1990 indicate that there is contaminated soil northwest of. <br /> 4 the north pump island. Figure 2 Indicates the location of these samples labeled QS-1, <br /> QS-2 and QS-3. Table 1 shows the laboratory results of these samples, Based on these <br /> } laboratory results, some excavation north.of the tanks and northwest of the north pump <br /> island may be necessary, Contamination is also suspected underneath the fuel tanks, the <br /> 5 j north pump island and south of the north pump i <br /> in these areas. sland. Excavation may also be necessary <br /> f <br /> SAMPLING i <br /> Two samples will be taken from each wall, one foot from the bottom of the excavation. <br /> The four samples that could not be taken from underneath the tanks during the tank pull <br /> , will be taken. The two samples that could not be taken during the north tank dispenser i <br /> nS <br /> is <br /> excavation will be taken.. Contamination will be Identified using an OVA meter. <br /> P Excavation will continue until OVA readings Indicate no contamination. Samples will <br /> then be taken and sent to a state-certified laboratory. The results from the laboratory <br /> will determine whether further excavation is required. At the discretion_of_Exceltech_or <br /> a_representative of the San Joaquin County Public Health Department, further samples <br /> f - will be taken. <br /> SCHEDULE <br /> Exceltech is prepared to perform the work once approval is received from the San <br /> { € Joaquin Health District. The excavation is expected to take two to three nonconsecutive <br /> ` f days, as laboratory results will be completed within 24 hours. <br /> 3 <br /> f <br />
