4,0 SUMMARY OF RESULTS
A summary of the analytical results from current and past well sampling is presented in Table 1. Based
on the groundwater-level data for May 28, 2003, ATC has interpreted the groundwater gradient and flow
direction for the upper aquifer as shown on Figure 3. In the upper aquifer monitoring wells MW-5,
MW-6, MW-7 and MW-10,the groundwater elevation decreased from the previous quarter an average of
0.20 feet, ranging from 0.18 feet in monitoring well MW-10 to 0.23 feet in monitoring well MW-7. The
' apparent groundwater flow direction in the upper aquifer was generally towards the southeast at a
gradient of approximately 0.002 (Figure 3).
Based on the groundwater-level data for May 28, 2003 (Table 1), ATC has interpreted the groundwater
' gradient and flow direction for the lower aquifer as shown on Figure 4. In the lower aquifer monitoring
wells MW-IR, MW-2, MW-3, MW-4, MW-8 and MW-9, the groundwater level decreased from the
1 previous quarter an average of 0.18 feet, ranging from 0.16 feet in monitoring well MW-8 to 0.20 in
monitoring wells MW-3 and MW-4. The apparent groundwater flow direction in the lower aquifer was
also towards the southeast at a gradient of approximately 0.002 (Figure 4).
Laboratory analysis of the water samples collected on May 28, 2003 indicates TPH-G and BTEX were
not detected in groundwater samples collected from the monitored wells, with the exception of 0.87
micrograms per liter (µg/l) of toluene in MW-4.MTBE was detected in groundwater samples collected
from MW-1R(370 µgll), MW-2 (3,300 µg/1), MW-3 (1.1 µg/1), MW-4 (3.1 µg11), MW-8 (0.52 µg/1) and
MW-9 (1.4 p.g/l) in the lower aquifer; and MW-5 (2,200 gg/1), MW-6 (1.2 µg/l), MW-7 (1.6 µg11) and
MW-10 (0.96 µg/1) in the upper aquifer. - Fuel oxygenates other than MTBE (TBA, DIPS, ETBE,
TAME), and 1,2-DCA and EDB were not detected in the groundwater samples collected from wells
sampled this quarter with the exception of TAME, which was reported in wells MW-2 (43 µg/1) and
MW-5 (20 µg11). The concentration of MTBE in monitoring well MW-1R increased significantly from
95 gg/l last quarter to 370 gg/l this quarter. The next quarterly groundwater sampling is scheduled for
the third quarter of 2003.
Quarterly GW Monitoring Report-2nd Qtr 2003
VQuik Stop No. 132
Quik Stop Markets, Inc.
J:7R0JECT8iOUIK STOP MKT512513TRepons4200312nd p1r2003Rp1 ATC Project No.75.62503.3204
October 30, 2003
