OOUHTY
E14VIPO'WENTAL
HEALTH IAPARTHENT '
a
Ms. Victoria McCartney October 24, 2005
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202 .
Re: Sensitive Receptor Survey
Quik Stop# 132
3555 W. Hammer Lane
Stockton, CA
Dear Ms. McCartney:
This report has been prepared by ATC Associates on behalf of Quik Stop Markets. This sensitive
receptor survey was performed to identify surface water bodies, and domestic water wells near
the site referenced above(Figure 1)in support of a forthcoming request for closure at the site.
SENSITIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY
ATC performed a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,000 foot radius of the site, Figure 1. The
survey included identifying surface water bodies, and reviewing California Department of Water
Resources (DWR) records to identify domestic water wells within the survey area. Based on
groundwater elevation data for August 24, 2005 the groundwater flow direction in wells, in both
the upper and lower screened intervals, was toward the southeast at a gradient of approximately
0.002 feet per foot (ft/ft) and 0.003 ft/ft, respectively. This is consistent with past reports of
groundwater flow direction and gradient for this site.
FINDINGS
Sensitive Receptors: ATC performed a search of the nearby areas for day care facilities, nursing
homes, hospitals, and schools. Four facilities were located and are shown on Figure 1 and
tabulated in Table 1. Two of the four facilities, located within the search radius, are located
down-to-cross-gradient of the subject site at distances of 0.13 mile and 0.42 mile. One facility is
located up-gradient and the other facility is located cross-gradient of the subject property at
distances of 0.30 mile and 0.09 mile respectively.
I
Surface Water Bodies: Stockton street maps and the 1993 United States Geological Survey 7 %z
minute quadrangle topographic map for Stockton, California were reviewed to identify surface
water bodies within the survey area.
The surface water bodies identified within the survey area were the North—South arm of Mosher
Stough, and a concrete lined community pond. Mosher Slough is located approximately 600 feet
to the west, up-gradient of the subject site. The concrete lined community pond is located
Sensitive Receptor Survey October 24,2005
Quik Stop # 132 Page 1 of 2
3555 W.Hammer Lane
Stockton,CA
