1
Working to Restore Nature
' September 1993 Quarterly Groundwater Sampling & Analysis December 1, 1993
Quik Stop Market No 132, Stockton, California F7132 93
' Summary of Results and Discussion
A summary of the analytical results from current and past well samplings is presented in
' Table 1. Plates 3 and 4 show the groundwater elevation contour maps for the upper and
lower aquifers, respectively, based on the water level data for September 23, 1993, shown
in Table 1 In the local upper aquifer, the groundwater levels in wells MW-5 dropped 0 99
feet and in wells MW-6 and MW-7 dropped 108 feet. In the local lower aquifer, the
groundwater level dropped an average of 1.21 feet, these declines ranged from 117 feet in
MW-4 to 128 feet in MW-2 The apparent groundwater flow direction in the local upper
' aquifer is to the south-southeast at a gradient of approximately 0 011 (Plate 3) The
apparent groundwater flow direction in the local lower aquifer is to the east-southeast at a
gradient of approximately 0 004 (Plate 4) These groundwater flow directions and gradients
' are similar to those observed last quarter (RESNA, August 16, 1993)
Laboratory analytical results of the samples collected from well MW-5 did not detect TPHg
' and BTEX in the sample collected before the pumping of well MW-5 on August 11, 1993,
but TPHg and benzene at concentrations of 140 ppb and 0 56 ppb, respectively were
detected in the sample collected after pumping was completed Analytical results of the
September 23, 1993 groundwater sampling and analyses detected TPHg only in well MW-5
at a concentration of 88 ppb, however BTEX were not detected in any of the groundwater
' samples Wells MW-3 and MW-4 were not sampled because historically the groundwater
in the wells have had nondetectable TPHg and BTEX
' The next quarterly groundwater sampling will be conducted in December 1993.
Reporting Requirements
A copy of this report should be forwarded by Quik Stop Markets, Inc , to the following
agencies in a timely manner
' Mr Michael Collins, R E H S
Environmental Health Specialist
' San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P O Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
3
