Box 5004 <br /> San Ramon, California 94583 <br /> Subject: Work Plan for Well Destmetion at Former Chevron Service Station #9- <br /> 19180 45 East Harding Way, Stockton, California. <br /> Mr. Hunter: <br /> At the request of Chevron Products Company (Chevron), Gettler-Ryan Inc. (G-R) has <br /> prepared this Work Plan for destroying seven groundwater monitoring wells and six vapor <br /> extraction wells at the above referenced site (Figure 1). Wells MW-1, MW-2R, MW-4 <br /> through MW-6, MW-8, MW-9, and V-1 through V-6 will be drilled out and the borings <br /> backfilled with neat cement. Well locations are shown on the attached site plan (Figure 2). <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> G-R proposes the following tasks: <br /> Task 1. Pre-Field Activities <br /> G-R will prepare a site-specific safety plan. A well destruction permit will be <br /> obtained from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SICPHS). <br /> Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified 48 hours prior to initiating well <br /> destruction activities. <br /> Task 2. Field Activities <br /> Seven 2-inch-,diameter wells will be drilled out with 8-inch-diameter hollow-stem <br /> augers and six 4-inch-diameter wells will be overdrilled with 10-inch-diameter <br /> hollow-stem augers. The augers will be advanced approximately one foot past the <br /> installed bottom of each well casing to ensure all well construction material has been <br /> removed from the boring. Copies of the boring logs and well construction details are <br /> attached. The boring will then be backfilled to ground surface with neat cement <br /> using a tremie pipe and pump. Drill cuttings will be stockpiled at the site pending <br /> receipt of disposal analytical data.
