Box 5004 San Ramon, California 94583 Subject: Work Plan for Well Destmetion at Former Chevron Service Station #9- 19180 45 East Harding Way, Stockton, California. Mr. Hunter: At the request of Chevron Products Company (Chevron), Gettler-Ryan Inc. (G-R) has prepared this Work Plan for destroying seven groundwater monitoring wells and six vapor extraction wells at the above referenced site (Figure 1). Wells MW-1, MW-2R, MW-4 through MW-6, MW-8, MW-9, and V-1 through V-6 will be drilled out and the borings backfilled with neat cement. Well locations are shown on the attached site plan (Figure 2). SCOPE OF WORK G-R proposes the following tasks: Task 1. Pre-Field Activities G-R will prepare a site-specific safety plan. A well destruction permit will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SICPHS). Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified 48 hours prior to initiating well destruction activities. Task 2. Field Activities Seven 2-inch-,diameter wells will be drilled out with 8-inch-diameter hollow-stem augers and six 4-inch-diameter wells will be overdrilled with 10-inch-diameter hollow-stem augers. The augers will be advanced approximately one foot past the installed bottom of each well casing to ensure all well construction material has been removed from the boring. Copies of the boring logs and well construction details are attached. The boring will then be backfilled to ground surface with neat cement using a tremie pipe and pump. Drill cuttings will be stockpiled at the site pending receipt of disposal analytical data.
