the exact locations will be negotiated with Taco Bell construction engineers and with your agency. The
final number and location of remediation wells and associated equipment will be detailed in a formalI
Ij N remedial action plan to be submitted to your agency once acceptance of the corrective action plan is
received. '!
' Fl
Figure 11 has been attached to show the relationship of the proposed restaurant building to those ti
h groundwater monitoring and soil vapor extraction wells that exist at the site.It is Chevron's intention to 41
abandon all existing wells that lie within the area of the proposed building. From the preliminary building
plans that are attached, it can be seen that groundwater monitoring wells MW-2R,MW-4,and MW-9 may,
li be affected. At this time,Chevron would propose to only replace MW-2R and MW-9. Upon receiving til
+i approval of a CAP, Chevron would provide a remedial action plan that would describe the abandonment
of all wells deemed unessential to the CAP and that would propose the installation of all new and
replacement groundwater monitoring and remediation wells.
ij
Chevron has actively remediated many sites successfully in conjunction with ongoing property
development. Hopefully, the information provided in this letter will satisfy you and your agency that it
a: can-be accomplished at this site. I believe that the°addendum to our CAP will sufficiently address all
concerns expressed by your agency and that formal approval will soon be issued. In the interim period,
Chevron would like to request that your agency provide some notification to the interested parties that the 1.1
r3 pending environmental issues are not sufficient to cause delay to property development plans.
If you have any questions or comments, please call me at(510) 842-8695.
ii rl
Sincerely,
Y,
Brett L.
