(Pacific),and was submitted to your agency by Pacific
underseparate cover on August 31,1995.
Prior to determining their proposed corrective action,Pacific performed acomprehensive review of all
previous environmental activity at thesubject site. From this information pacific was able to calculate
estimates of the original hydrocarbon mass released beneath the site, the mass of hydrocarbons remediated
during the operation of the former soil vapor extraction.system, and the extent and mass of hydrocarbons i
remaining beneath the site currently. After considering these site specific data and their feasibility study of
all applicable technologies,Pacific has recommended achieving specific.cleanup goals through•a -
combination of soil vapor extraction and natural attenuation mechanisms.Until the, specific cleanup goals
are attained,Pacific has also recommended the establishment of a water qualitylimited zone which will be.
used to manage and contain groundwater until background contaminant levels within are met.
Once approval of this CAP is received from your agency,Chevron will, submit.a workplan which will
describe the formal design, installation; and operation of the recommended system. If you have any
questions or comments,please call me at(5 10) 842-8695.
Sincerely,
Brett L.Hunter
Environmental Engineer - - -
'F Site Assessment and Remediation
Z -
