We have been
sampling monitoring wells for more than five years that are located greater than 25 feet
from your railway, but in close proximity nevertheless. The monitoring wells are shown on
the attached PDFs. Three of the wells (highlighted in the PDFs)have been covered by dirt
and debris due to various site activities. KP-5S and KP-5D are paired monitoring wells at
the same location and have been covered by a dirt access road (built by BNSF?)during
construction of new tracks in the southern end of the site.
I would like to access and uncover the three monitoring well locations highlighted on the
figures (KP-9S, KP-11 S, and KP-5S/5D)on Wednesday of this week(August 29) so that
we can meet regulatory requirements for monitoring these wells.
Please let me know ASAP if these wells (specifically KP-5S/5D)are located within the
railway easement and if we need a permit to access these wells with small equipment
(e.g., skid steer or small backhoe).
Thanks in advance,
Sandi Shearer, P.E.
Environmental Engineer
CH2M HILL/RDD
Phone:530.229.3354
Fax:530.339.3354
2525 Airpark Drive
Redding CA 96001
Sandra.Shearer@ ch2nL com
8/24/2010
