Hildreth Lane RO#0001592
Stockton, CA. 95212
On July 7, 2004, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD) was notified that the above referenced site had been identified in a
report as a site where hazardous materials/waste were discharged into the septic
system. San Joaquin County Ordinance Code Section 9-1110.7 prohibits
disposal of hazardous materials/waste (solvents and toxics) into a septic system.
Y
SJCEHD has implemented a Local Agency Groundwater Protection/Underground
Injection Control (UIC) Program in accordance with guidelines prepared by the
United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The primary focus of
the program is to protect drinking water by identification and evaluation of
subsurface disposal of prohibited substances. The presence of Ethylbenzene,
Toluene, Xylene, and p-isopropyltoluene in your septic tank makes it subject to
the underground injection control regulations and our local program.
The residence/structure at this address is posted as unsafe to occupy and will
remain as such until both of the following conditions have been met.
1. the interior of the residence has been signed off by a certified industrial
hygienist as safe to occupy and,
2. the investigation and any cleanup determined necessary of the septic
system completed.
This correspondence is to advise you of the requirements to investigate and
cleanup the contamination found in the septic system.
In order to start your required investigation and evaluate if there is a threat to the
drinking water from the chemicals found in the septic tank that may have flowed
into the leach lines, SJCEHD will require you enter the UIC program by
completing the following.
