Ms. Margaret Lagorio, SJCEHD November 30,2007
Work Plan for Additional Assessment Project No. 2033-15688-01
15688 Harlan Road, Lathrop, California
Page 7
filter pack, the well will be surged to settle the filter pack and additional sand will be
added, if necessary. Approximately four feet of bentonite will be placed on top of the
filter pack and hydrated with clean water to provide a sanitary seal for the well.
Watertight locking caps will be placed over the tops of the well casings, and traffic rated
vault boxes will be installed around the top of the wells. Actual well construction may be
modified in the field based on conditions encountered at the time of the investigation.
Task 2C: Groundwater Monitoring Well Development and Sampling
A minimum of 48 hours following the installation of the monitoring wells, Stratus will
return to the site to develop the wells. Development will be conducted by surging each
well, followed by groundwater removal via downwell pump or hand bailing.
Development will continue until approximately ten casing volumes are removed or until
the wells go dry. A minimum of 24 hours following the development, the wells will be
purged of three well volumes and groundwater samples will be collected from each well
using a new disposable bailer. Groundwater recovered in the bailer will be transferred to
proper analyte-specific containers supplied by the analytical laboratory. Each sample
will be labeled, identified on a chain-of-custody form, and placed in an ice-chilled cooler
for transport to the laboratory.
Task 21): Waste Management
Wastewater and soil cuttings generated during the activities will be stored in a DOT
approved 55-gallon drum and stored on-site. Following profiling, a licensed contractor will
dispose of the waste at an appropriate facility.
Task 2E: Surveying
A California licensed land surveyor will be retained to survey the latitude, longitude, and
elevation of each monitoring wells. The elevations will be established relative to a known
benchmark in feet mean sea level (MSL). These data will be submitted to the California
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) as required by AB 2886 (GeoTracker).
Task 3: Laboratory Analyses
Soil and groundwater samples collected during this investigation will be submitted to a
California Department of Health Service-certified analytical laboratory, under chain-of-
custody, for chemical analyses. Soil samples and groundwater samples will be analyzed
for DRO (CIO-C2$) by EPA Method 8015B or CADHS/LUFT, for GRO (C5-C12), BTEX,
1,2-DCA, TBA, and naphthalene by EPA Method 80260B, and for Pb and Zn by EPA
Method 6020.
K:Voe's Truck Plaza\Work P1ansUoe's Truck-SOUTH PARCEL-WP for Site Assessment 11-30-07.doc STRATUS
