INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Bob Long of Sierra Lumber, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has
prepared this report of environmental activities conducted at 375 West Hazelton Avenue(the site),
Stockton, California The objectives of the activities were to monitor dissolved petroleum
' hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water, to characterize ground water flow direction and
gradient, and to monitor the progress and effectiveness of soil vapor extraction(SVE)and in-situ air
sparging(LAS)remediation at the site The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and
' monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2
This report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the California Regional Water
' Quality Control Board- Central Valley Region(RWQCB)for investigation of underground storage
tank(UST)sites A summary of previous investigations at the site was included in the AGE prepared
Corrective Action Plan, dated 15 February 2000 Analytical data for ground water acquired to date
is included in this report
2.0. GROUND WATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING PROCEDURES
On 20 March 2003, ground water monitoring and sampling were performed at the site on selected
groundwater monitoring wells Groundwater monitoring and sampling procedures for the site were
outlined in Remediallnvestigatcon/Feasibility Study Work Plan, dated 02 March 1999,prepared by
AGE and approved by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) by
letter dated 07 April 1999 As-built monitoring well construction details are also summarized in
Table 1
I
2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
Depth to ground water was measured in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-8 from the tops of
the well casings to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter The ground water
elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the
surveyed casing elevation(Table 1) Ground water elevations were plotted and contoured on a scaled
site map (Figure 3)
After water levels were measured, approximately 8 to 14 gallons of ground water (a minimum of
three casing-water volumes per well)were evacuated(purged)from wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-413,
Iand MW-6 utilizing a polyethylene disposable bailer Due to an abundance of sediment accumulation
Advanced Geo Environmental,Inc
I j
