' 08 June 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 98-0448 <br /> Page 2 of 9 <br /> 1 <br /> in MW-4A (approximately 13 feet), purging activities were not performed Temperature, pH and <br />' conductivity were measured at wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4B and MW-6 at regular purge-volume <br /> Intervals using an Oakton water analyzer Field data and logs are in Appendix A Purged ground <br />' water was containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and was stored on-site <br /> in an area lacking general public access <br /> 1 2 2 GROUND WATER SAMPLING <br />' Following well purging, the ground water level in each of the purged wells was allowed to achieve <br /> a minimum of 80%recharge prior to sample collection Ground water samples were collected from <br /> the purged wells utilizing new, disposable polyethylene bailers and transferred into 40-m1 EPA- <br /> approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative Care was <br /> taken to ensure that visible air bubbles were not present in the vials after filling and capping Ground <br /> water sample containers were Iabeled with the well designation, date, time, and sampler's initials <br /> • 2 3 LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Each ground water sample was logged on a chain-of custody form,placed in a chilled container and <br />' transported to McCambell Analytical Inc (MAI),a Califorma Department of Health Services(DHS)- <br /> certified laboratory for analysis for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method 8015C <br />' Modified, <br /> • Benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene and xylene(BTEX)with methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) <br />' by EPA Method 8021B, <br /> • 1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), ethylene dibromide (EDB), tertiary butanol (TBA), di- <br /> isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tert butyl ether (ETBE), tert amyl methyl ether (TAME) and <br /> MTBE by EPA Method 8260B <br /> 2 4 MONITORING WELL REDEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES <br />' During the above referenced ground water monitoring activities,it was discovered that sediment had <br /> filled the bottom of well MW-4A from approximately 20 feet (first ground water) to 33 feet bsg <br />' (total depth) Therefore, on 18 April 2002, well MW-4A was redeveloped to remove excessive <br /> sediment that had filled the bottom of the well Redevelopment activities at well MW-4A consisted <br />' Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> I <br />
