This case does not meet all of the required criteria of the Policy.
Highlights of the case follow:
This case is an active lumber yard. An unauthorized release was reported in October 2004.
Dual phase extraction conducted since August 2012 has removed 1,980 pounds of total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and 2.4 million gallons of contaminated
groundwater by June 2014. The June 2013 rate of extraction was 3.2 pounds of TPHg per day.
Since 2005, twelve groundwater monitoring and four remediation wells have been installed and
monitored. According to groundwater data, water quality objectives have not been achieved.
The petroleum release is limited to the soil and shallow groundwater. According to data
available in GeoTracker, there are no public water supply wells within 1,000 feet of the projected
plume boundary. No other water supply wells have been identified within 1,000 feet of the
projected plume boundary in files reviewed. Mormon Slough is located approximately 500 feet
east of the Site. The unauthorized release is located within the service area of a public water
system, as defined in the Policy. The affected shallow groundwater is not currently being used
as a source of drinking water, and it is highly unlikely that the affected shallow groundwater will
be used as a source of drinking water in the foreseeable future. Other designated beneficial
uses of impacted groundwater are not threatened, and it is highly unlikely that they will be,
considering these factors in the context of the site setting.
FELICIA MARCUS,CHAIR I THOMAS HOWARD,E%ECII DIRECTOR
10011 Street,Sacramento,CA 95814 Meiling Address;P.O Boa 100,Sacramento Ca 95812-0100 1 Wo,W weterboardsca gov
*1 PEEVCLE]'ARER
