PERSONAL PRO-fECTIVE AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT <br /> Based on the hazard analysis for this project,the following protective equipment <br /> will be required and used: <br /> work clothes hearing protection (if necessary) <br /> Hard hat gloves <br /> fire extinguisher <br /> WORKPRACTICES <br /> Safe work practices to be employed during the entire progress of field work are as <br /> follows: <br /> Set up,assemble,and check out all equipment for integrity and proper function <br /> prior to starting work activities <br /> Do not use faulty or suspect equipment. <br /> Use only new and intact protective clothing. Change any torn clothing. <br /> Do not use hands to wipe sweat away from face. Use a clean towel or paper <br /> towels. <br /> Practice contamination avoidance at all times. <br /> Do not smoke,eat,drink or apply cosmetics while in the contaminated areas of <br /> the site,or prior to decontamination. <br /> Wash hands,face,and arms prior to taking rest breaks,lunch breaks,and leaving <br /> the site at the end of the work day. <br /> Notify the Project Manager immediately if there is an accident that causes an <br /> injury of illness. <br /> Use the buddy system when working in the contaminated areas of the site. <br /> Do not approach or enter an area where oxygen deficiency or toxic or explosive <br /> concentrations of airborne contaminants may exist without the proper personal <br /> protective equipment and appropriate support personnel. <br /> EMERGENCY RESPONSE <br /> Emergency response shall be carried out immediately whenever there is a personal <br /> injury,,fire,explosion,or release of hazardous waste or hazardous waste constituents <br /> that could threaten human health or the environment. Any field team member that <br /> sees or suspects a fire,explosion,or release of hydrocarbons shall notify the project <br /> manager immediately. Releases to the environment will be managed according to <br /> Holly's Spill Prevention Control And Countermeasures plan,and HMMP,and will <br /> I <br /> be reported to the appropriate state and Federal agencies. <br />
