I <br /> Reporting to the factory manager all facts pertaining to incidents which result in <br /> injury or exposure to toxic materials. <br /> Rich Jetton,environmental engineer with Holly Sugar,will provide technical <br /> support for the project. <br /> F.G.L labs will collect and prepare samples for analyses. <br /> F.G.L will be responsible for their own health and safety program and the"health <br /> and safety of their own employees. This requirement is based on OSHA <br /> I regulations,which recognize the employer to employee responsibility for health <br /> and safety. A copy of their written program must be submitted for review if <br /> requested. In an effort to assist the subcontractors,and to comply with hazard <br /> communication requirements,Holly will provide a copy of the site safety and <br /> { health plan for this project to the subcontractor for implementation to the <br /> subcontractor's employees. <br /> HAZARD ANALYSIS <br /> The potential hazards to personnel working at the subject site have been identified <br /> as chemical exposure,and the physical hazards of working around the backhoe. <br /> Each potential hazard relative to the potential for exposure is described below. <br /> Chemical Contamination <br /> The potential chemical hazard at this site is exposure to gasoline. The main routes <br /> of exposure are throe*h respiration,and through skin contact with contaminated <br /> soils. Protective clothing,including;gloves,shall be warn during sample collection. <br /> Prolonged breathing of gasoline vapors shall be avoided. If a strong odor of <br /> gasoline vapors is detected,and exposure to these vapors is unavoidable,filter <br /> masks capable of removing the vapors,or SCBA shall be worn. <br /> Physical Hazards <br /> The physical hazards are associated with the operation of the backhoe and working <br /> around the hole created by the aver-excavation. Members of the field team will stay <br /> clear during the excavation and will take sail samples onl from the backhoe bucket. <br /> No persons shall enter the excavation hole. Water camp es shall be taken by pump <br /> or grab sampled. "Cautions tape shall be place around the perimeter of the <br /> excavation at least two feet from the edge-of-hole. <br /> i <br />
