GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSES <br /> ' Each monitoring well was purged of at feast three well volumes using a decontaminated <br /> submersible pump Sample Information Forms documenting well monitoring, purging and <br /> sampling data are included as Attachment 1 <br /> ' Groundwater samples were collected from the five wells using a Teflon sampling bailer, packed <br /> in an iced cooler, and transported under Cham-of-Custody manifest to Sparger Technologies, <br /> ' Inc , a California-certified analytical laboratory located in Sacramento, California The laboratory <br /> analyzed each field sample for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX) and Total <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) using EPA Method 8015/8020 The laboratory <br /> reports and chain-of-custody documents are included as Attachment 2 <br /> ' Benzene was detected in two wells (MW-2 and MW-3) The concentration and distribution of <br /> benzene in groundwater has remained relatively constant since the previous sampling event in <br /> October 1995 Concentrations of toluene and xylenes were detected in low concentrations in <br /> MW-2 Ethylbenzene and TPHg were not detected in any of the wells The current and <br /> historical laboratory results are summarized in Table 2 <br /> 1 <br />
