This work was performed to assess current subsurface <br /> conditions at the property in the vicinity of former on-site underground fuel storage tanks. The <br /> activities performed at the project site are described in detail in the following paragraphs. <br /> SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located on the south side of East Harding Way in Stockton, California, as shown on <br /> Figure 1. The property is located in a mixed residential, commercial, and industrial area. The site <br /> is currently occupied by a hydraulic repair facility. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In April 1987, SEMCO removed and disposed of two 1,000-gallon regular gasoline underground <br /> storage tanks (USTs), associated piping, and fuel dispenser from the locations shown on Figure 2. <br /> A soil sample was collected from the end of each tank at .approximately 17 feet below ground j <br /> surface. Analytical testing indicated the collected samples contained detectable concentrations of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon constituents.
