Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Workplan for Subsurface Investigation for Eggiman, Andrew and Edith Trust, for
the Property at 1112 East Harding Way, Stockton, California
Dear Mr. Sasson:
Smith Technology Corporation has prepared this workplan, on behalf of Eggiman, Andrew and
Edith Trust, for the performance of a subsurface investigation at the above referenced site. The
purpose of the subsurface investigation is to attempt to determine the extent of residual soil
contamination, if any, in the vicinity of two former underground fuel storage tanks. This work
being done the evaluate subsurface conditions at the property and if appropriate obtain site
closure from San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division
(PHSIEHD). The proposed scope of work includes obtaining permits, advancing three soil
borings, soil sampling, laboratory analysis of selected soil samples, and preparing a summary
report. The scope of work is described in detail in the following paragraphs.
ti
SITE LOCATION
' The site is located on the south side of East Harding Way in Stockton, California, as shown on
Figure 1. The location is a mixed residential, commercial, and industrial area. The site is
currently occupied by a hydraulic repair facility.
BACKGROUND
In April 1987, SEMCO removed and disposed of two 1,000-gallon regular gasoline underground
storage tanks (USTs), associated piping, and fuel dispenser from the locations shown on Figure 2.
A soil sample was collected from the end of each tank at approximately 17 feet below ground
surface. Analytical testing indicated the collected samples contained detectable concentrations of
petroleum hydrocarbon constituents. The excavation was subsequently backfilled.
w:1977361reportslwkp.doc 7111197 1
1260 Graphics Drive Modesto,CA 95351-1502 (209)579-2221 - Fax(209)579-2225
Engineering Consulting • Remediation Construction
