Initial
information from the city indicates that it may not be possible to discharge to the
sanitary sewer at the anticipated extraction rate, but Stratus is continuing
discussions.
• If the sewer discharge request is denied, Stratus will prepare and submit an
application to RWQCB requesting a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (NPDES) permit to authorize discharge of treated water to the storm
drain.
• Stratus will prepare and submit an application to the City of Lathrop building
department for all construction activities.
Task 3— Construction and System Installation
A Stratus field construction supervisor will oversee field activities and ensure conformity
with the construction requirements set forth in the plans and specifications. Stratus will
supervise trenching, subgrade and aboveground pipe installation, backfill, compaction,
and resurfacing where necessary. All construction work will be performed by an
appropriately licensed contractor as required by the building permits.
Task 4— Start-up and Operation
Start-up operations for the proposed GETS will be conducted during the first two days of
system operation, or as specified in the discharge permit conditions. The following
parameters will be monitored and recorded on field data sheets during the system start up:
• Influent and effluent groundwater flow rates,
• Depth to groundwater in the extraction wells (prior to startup) and in the
monitoring wells located in the vicinity of the extraction wells, and
• First set of influent, mid-fluent, and effluent groundwater samples will be
collected after treating approximately 5,000 gallons (approximate volume of three
carbon vessels) of groundwater, or in accordance with the discharge permit
conditions.
• Other measurements will be performed as required by the discharge permit.
K:Voe's Truck Plaza\Work PlansVoes IRAP 020205.doc
