S E C O R
Ms Margaret Lagorio
May 2, 2005
Page 3
It should be noted that wells MW-2 and MW-3 are screened in Sand A,while well MWO-1X
is screened in Sand B. During constant rate pump tests in MW-2 and MW-3, wells MW-1,
MW-6, MW-03, and MW-01 can be monitored, as well as MW-2 or MW-3. Combined these
data will provide sufficient information to estimate aquifer parameters for Sand A. Because
well MWO-1X is the only well screened in Sand B, there are no other wells that can be
monitored for the purposes of estimating aquifer parameters in Sand B. Therefore, during
the constant rate pumping test wells in Sand A will be monitored to determine whether or
not the two aquifers are connected. However, information will not be sufficient to determine
Sand B aquifer parameters.
Task 4: Data Analysis and Reporting
When the test is completed, SECOR will submit a report that calculates aquifer parameters
for Sand A, evaluates potential connectivity between Sand A and Sand B, and assesses
whether groundwater extraction would be a feasible and cost-effective interim method for
controlling MTBE migration from the Site. If groundwater extraction is found to be a
feasible interim remedial alternative, SECOR will develop a subsequent work plan for
designing, permitting, constructing, operating, and evaluating a groundwater extraction
system.
Schedule
SECOR anticipates completing this work within six weeks of approval of this work plan.
Thank you for your continued oversight in this matter. We realize this work plan is relatively
general and would welcome your comments and suggestions. If you have any questions or
comments, please feel free to contact Todd Sax (916) 861-0400 x246 or Michael Stephens
at (916) 861-0400 x300.
Sincerely,
SECOR International Incorporated
Todd Sax, D.Env.
Senior Scientist
0A)
Michael Stephens, CEG, .HG, REM (✓
Sacramento West Region Manager
cc: Lori Rowe
Dalwinder Dhoot
JTP_IRAP_V01.doc CADocuments and Settingsusax\My Documents\05-04\Joe's Truck Stop\I RAP\JTP_IRAP_V01.doc
