2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> 21 Subject Site and Vicinity <br /> The subject site is an active service station located at the southeast corner of the intersection of J <br /> Street and Harlan Road in Lathrop, California (Figure 1) The current station configuration <br /> consists of a station building, four dispenser islands intended for automobile refueling, seven <br /> dispenser islands intended for large truck refueling, four 10,000-gallon above ground tanks used <br /> to store diesel, one 12,000-gallon UST, one 10,000-gallon UST, and one 4,000-gallon UST used <br /> to store gasoline, and one 4,000-gallon UST used to store diesel The configuration of the <br /> facility is shown in Figures 2 and 3 <br /> Zoning and Land Use <br /> Figure 2 illustrates property usage in the immediate vicinity of the subject site Properties to the <br /> north and south of the Joe's Truck Plaza site property are developed for commercial use <br /> Properties to the east are developed for residential use (detached single-family houses) <br /> • Immediately to the west of the site is Interstate 5, and to the west of the highway, the land is <br /> currently undeveloped Businesses that operate in the immediate vicinity of the site include a car <br /> wash and a self-storage facility <br /> Well Search <br /> A survey of water supply wells in the vicinity was performed by Avalon Environmental <br /> Consultants (Avalon) in January 2000 This well survey consisted only of a review of DWR <br /> files Avalon did not identify any water supply wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site <br /> 2.2 Topography and Surface Conditions <br /> The subject site is situated on a flat-lying plain, at an elevation of approximately 14 feet above <br /> mean sea level that slopes gently toward the west (Figure 1) The site itself is covered either by <br /> asphalt or cement paving and planters, as shown on Figure 2 The San Joaquin River flows <br /> approximately 5,000 feet to the west (upgradnent) of the site There are also channelized streams <br /> and stock watering holes with 1,000 feet of the site to the west There are few surface bodies of <br /> water immediately downgradient (cast) of the site and they appear to be at least 10 feet higher in <br /> elevation than the study site Although the groundwater is shallow beneath the site (6 to 10 feet <br /> bgs), environmental impact to surface waters by groundwater discharge into streams <br /> downgradient of the site does not appear likely <br /> P Voe's Truck Plaza\Reports\SCM_09-2003Voes truck plaza SCM doc Page 3 STRATUS <br />
