GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION
According to the map titled Lines Of Equal Depth To Groundwater-Spring 1996, published by the
San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, the estimated depth to ground
water at the property is between 80 and 90 feet below surface grade (bsg). However, historical
ground water maps suggest the ground water table to have been at 55 feet (1971). Regional ground
water flow direction in the area of the site is southeast.
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
Based on discussions with Mr. Ron Rowe of the PHS-EHD on 24 September 1997, additional
subsurface assessment is required to delineate the extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil at the site.
Furthermore, the PHS-EHD has requested sampling of the on-site domestic water well.
3.1. DOMESTIC WELL SAMPLING
Ground water depth will be measured in the well prior to sampling. After sampling,a bailer will be
used to obtain a grab ground water sample. However, if a bailer cannot be placed down the well for
sample collection, a sample will be collected from an in-line sampling port.
3.2. PROBING AND SAMPLING
Initially,AGE proposes to advance one additional soil probe boring at the site. The probe boring will
be advanced using a Geoprobe 5400 soil probing unit. The location of the proposed soil probe boring
is illustrated on Figure 2. However, additional probe borings may be advanced based upon field
observations.
Discrete soil samples will be collected continuously beginning at a depth of 5 feet bsg utilizing a
Geoprobe macro-core sampler and 36-inch acetate sleeves. Selected soil samples will be preserved
by covering both ends of the second brass sleeve with Teflon sheets, plastic end caps and sealed with
duct tape. Each sample sleeve will be labeled with the following information: soil probe boring
location, depth, time, date and sampler's initials.
3.3. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All sampling equipment used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after
Advanced GeoEnviro=ental,Inc.
