17 November 1997
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0152
washing with a solution of Alconox. All probe rods will be thoroughly cleaned prior to each boring
advancement.
3.4. LABORATORY ANALYSIS
Selected soil and grab ground water samples will be analyzed for TPH-g,BTE&X, methyl-tertiary
butyl ether(MTBE) and volatile aromatic compounds (VOCs; including oxygenate identification)
in accordance with EPA methods 8015m, 8020/602 and 8260. Laboratory reports of both soil and
ground water analysis,testing methods,laboratory quality assurance/quality control(QA/QC)reports
and sample chain-of-custody documentation will be presented in a report with the findings and
recommendations.
4.0. PROCEDURES
4.1. DOMESTIC WELL SAMPLING
The following procedures will be performed for sampling of the on-site domestic well:
1. Measure ground water depth and total well depth using a solinst or similar water lever meter.
2. Using a bailer, obtain a grab ground water sample from the well. If a bailer cannot be utilized
to obtain a ground water sample, the holding tank of the domestic well will be drained until
down-hole pump is activated. This will facilitate the introduction of"representative"water
into the holding tank and sample port. The sample will then be collected from the sampling
port.
3. Collect a single grab ground water sample from the well. The sample will be collected in 40
ml VOA vials.
4. Transport ground water sample under chain-of-custody procedure to a State-certified
laboratory for analysis of TPH-g, BTE&X, MTBE and VOCs in accordance with EPA
methods 5030/8015m, 8020 and 8260.
4.2. PROBING AND SAMPLING ACTIVITIES
The following procedures will be performed for the advancement of soil probe borings:
5. Notify the San Joaquin County PHS-EHD at least 48 hours prior to commencement of any
work, while securing proper city/county permits.
Advanced GeoEnviro=ental,Inc.
