5
ATC ASSoc aces SITE SAFETY PLAN
i
FACILITY BACKGROUND i
In April 1988, two 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) formerly containing
gasoline were excavated and removed from the site, along with approximately 120 cubic
yards of soil.'! Laboratory analytical results of soil and groundwater samples taken during
the excavation showed no impact by petroleum hydrocarbons to the soil, but groundwater
was impacted.
Further investigation ensued in July 1996,when four soil borings (131, B2, B3, and 134)were
advanced to 15 feet below ground surface by Advanced GeoEnviron mental, Inc. Three of
the borings were completed as monitoring wells (MW1, MW2, and MW3); the fourth was
backfilled with grout to the surface.
WORK PLAN
Task One:
Supervise the destruction of three monitoring wells by overdrilling to 16 feet bgs.
One soil sample will be collected during overdrilling. Samples will be analyzed for
TPHg (EPA Method 8015 Modified), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes
(BTEX, EPA Method 8020), oxygenate fuel additives (EPA Method 8260) and total a
i lead.
E
E
f
I - j
PAGE 4
i
