Three Former Vapor Extraction Wells October 12,2010
Former Nestle USA,Inc.Facility,Ripon,CA
.r.i.
tlSurveyed location for VE-4,facing southeast. 4Surveyed location for VE-11, facing south.
a New fence (installed May 2010) across former
location of VE-12. The foreground "X" marks the
geodetic survey. The "X" directly under the fence
marks the GPR anomaly. The patched area was
left behind in May 2010 from a fence post which
was moved.
PROPOSED ACTIONS FOR VE-4, VE-11, AND VE-12
1) ECM is proposing a 5-foot by 5-foot excavation to a depth of 5 feet bgs in the location of each of
the three former well locations identified during the geodetic survey/GPR search.
2) If ECM locates any of the missing VE wells during this excavation effort:
a. ECM will stub up the well locations to above ground surface and backfill around the
stubbed-up locations.
b. The locations will be sealed to protect from surface water infiltration and coned to
prevent vehicular damage.
c. ECM will obtain the necessary well destruction permits form SJC-EHD.
d. Prior to commencing decommissioning activities with a California licensed driller,
ECM will contact SJC-EHD to notify the inspector of the work start date.
e. ECM will notify SJC-EHD within 24-hours of the need for a grout inspection.
3
