' w
Mr. Mike Desso . - 3 - • 4 December 2006
Nestle's Draft Report), recommends a detection limit of 10 micro grams per liter, which is
equivalent to approximately 2 ppmv.
Comments on the Work Plan
Regional Water Board staff has the following comments on the Work Plan presented in Appendix
A of the Draft Report.
11.The text of the first paragraph of Section 2.3.4 of the Work Plan is confusing. It seems to
indicate that only one air sample will be collected per building. This contradicts the information
provided in the Table on pages 3 and 4, and in Figure 2 of the Work Plan. Please clarify the
text to indicate that more than one air sample will be collected from each building.
12.The Work Plan indicates that the indoor air sampling will occur during early autumn. The Work
Plan should be revised to indicate that the sampling will occur when weather and soil moisture
conditions are favorable.
13. Provided that Nestle adheres to the recommendations, and the methods and procedures of the
guidance documents named in the Reference Section of the Draft Report, the Work Plan
should be implemented.
The final Report and Work Plan should be submitted to the Regional Water Board by 8 January
2007. In addition, to address the Regional Water Board staff General Comments above, Nestle
should submit a work plan by 9 February 2007 to complete characterization of the TCE in soil
vapor.
