C. The ends of the slotted pipe shall be machined with <br /> threads which are compatible with those of the blank PVC <br /> well casing of similar schedule. All threads shall be <br /> machined so that when joined, the joint formed is flush <br /> with the outside diameter of the casing. <br /> D. All slotted pipe shall be new and shall be decontaminated <br /> prior to installation using the same procedures as used <br /> for blank casing. The cost for decontamination shall be <br /> included in the subcontractor's price to furnish the well <br /> screen. <br /> 11.3 Formation Stabilizer. Contractor shall provide a suitable <br /> formation stabilizer for filling the annulus around well <br /> screens. This material shall consist of clean, 6x20 size <br /> Monterey Silica Sand or equivalent as approved by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 11.4 Caps and Protective Covers. Contractor shall provide end caps <br /> for top and bottom of all wells. For all of the wells, the <br /> Contractor shall supply 6-5/8 inch locking steel protective <br /> well covers in 5—foot lengths. For all of the wells, the <br /> Contractor shall also provide locking protective Christy, or <br /> equivalent, locking covers which are flush with ground level. <br /> 11.5 Bentonite Seal. Contractor shall provide bentonite pellets as <br /> manufactuerd by Slope Indicator Company, or equivalent as <br /> approved by the Engineer. <br /> 11.6 Cement Grout. Contractor shall provide Portland Type I/II <br /> Cement Grout and equipment for mixing. The mixing equipment <br /> must have a minimum capacity of 300 gallons. <br /> 11.7 Payment.
