11.0 Materials Specifications <br /> 11.1 Casing. <br /> A. Well casing for the 120 foot well/ shall be <br /> four-inch (4") nominal inner-diameter (ID) Schedule 40 <br /> poly vinyl chloride (PVC) pipe with flush coupled screw <br /> type joints. Well casing for the 160 and 240 foot wells <br /> shall be five-inch (5") nominal ID Schedule 80 PVC pipe <br /> with flush coupled screw type joints. <br /> B. PVC pipe shall be supplied primarily in 20-foot lengths. <br /> A sufficient number of pipes, in 5- and 10-foot lengths, <br /> shall also be supplied so that the depth of a monitoring <br /> well can be designed to the nearest 5 feet without having <br /> to cut longer pipes. <br /> C. All PVC pipe shall be new and shall be decontaminated <br /> prior to installation. Decontamination procedures are <br /> discussed in Section 20.0. The cost for decontamination <br /> shall be included in the Contractor's price to furnish <br /> the pipe. <br /> 11.2 Screens. <br /> A. Slotted well casing shall be Hydrophyllic, Timco or <br /> equivalent. The slotted casing for the 4G ivR 120 foot <br /> well/ shall be 4-inch diameter, schedule 40 PVC pipe <br /> supplied in 10-foot lengths. The slotted casing for the <br /> 180- and 240-foot wells shall be 5-inch diameter schedule <br /> 80 PVC pipe supplied in 10-foot lengths. <br /> B.
