Engineer. The development activities will begin no sooner than 12 <br /> hours following completion of the well, until the grout has hardened <br /> to the satisfaction of the Engineer. The use of additives during <br /> the development will not be allowed and all equipment used to air <br /> lift will have in-line air filters to prevent the introduction of <br /> oil and grease residues. The water produced during the development <br /> will be discharged as directed by the Engineer. This work shall be <br /> performed at the hourly development rate. <br /> 20.0 Decontamination of Drilling Equipment and Personnel <br /> A. All drilling equipment, surface and down-hole, including the <br /> drilling machine, drill rods, auger flights, bits, cables, <br /> tanks, tremie pipe, temporary casing, etc. , shall be steam- <br /> cleaned on-site prior to first use, between mobilization to each <br /> new borehole and prior to leaving the final borehole location. <br /> B. The Owner maintains a steam-cleaning area where the Contractor <br /> can perform the decontamination activities. <br /> This work shall be paid at the hourly decontamination rate. <br /> 21.0 Well Abandonment <br /> In the event that the Contractor shall cause the abandonment of a <br /> well for any reason due to negligence on the Contractor's part, the <br /> Contractor shall plug said well in accordance with regulations of <br /> the State of California at his own cost, and immediately commence <br /> drilling a replacement well. The Contractor shall not be paid for <br /> any well abandoned due to his negligence. <br /> 22.0 Mobilization, Site cleanup, and Demobilization <br /> Contractor shall be responsible for moving in all equipment, per- <br /> sonnel, and materials for accomplishing this work.
