Three wells will be located on City-
owned property south of the Nestle plant (see attached map). The City has approved
installation of the wells (see attached letter with approval signature). The Regional Water
Quality Control Board - Central Valley Region has been informed of the installation and will
provide you with written approval (as per Cam Williams 9/14/92). Wells will be installed by
either Cal-Tech Drilling, Spectrum Exploration or Layne Western, depending upon rig
availability. Three wells are anticipated, in the intermediate ("A" zone), clay zone ("C" zone)
and deep aquifers ("D" zone). In addition, two shallow vapor extraction wells, completed in
the vadose zone, will be installed. One will be installed on the Nestle facility, adjacent to
existing well VE-6. The second will be installed on property currently being purchased by
Nestle, near existing well M-813. Drilling is anticipated for the week of September 21 or 28th,
1992. A check in the amount of $426 is enclosed to cover the cost of the permit and
processing fees.
Thanks for your prompt consideration. We will keep you apprised of the schedule to allow
for your oversight.
Sincerely,
App/iedEnvironmental Consulting, Inc.
Sara R.
