Nestle USA, Inc., Ripon, California August 11, 2009
Second Quarter 2009 Site Status Report
oo One private well located at 110 Manley Road (Swiss Club).
Table 1 presents well construction information for each well, including the date the well
was installed, and the groundwater sampling frequency.
3.1 GROUNDWATER MONITORING
Wells were monitored for groundwater levels and sampled for trichloroethylene (TCE)
and its degraded products, hereafter collectively referred to as chemicals of concern
(COC) concentrations, as required by the 2006 CAO and the MRP. This section
presents a summary of the activities performed and any exceptions in the Second
Quarter 2009.
3.1.1 Groundwater Elevation Measurements
Table 2 provides the list of wells and a summary of results and the dates of depth-to-
water measurements that ECM gauged in the Second Quarter 2009.
oo ECM measured groundwater levels in 119 wells in accordance with the MRP
on April 6, 2009. Third parties measured water elevations for wells installed
by the City, and Neenah Paper Company and provided the data to ECM. The
details are provided below.
oo City staff measured water levels for eleven municipal production wells and
three monitoring wells, MW-9mon, MW-10mon, and MW-14mon.
oo The City's consultant (Ecologic Engineering) monitored nine municipal
piezometers located near the municipal lagoons, W-1 through W-9, on April
6, 2009. These wells are not subject to the MRP; however, ECM reports the
water elevation data for these wells (Table 2) and evaluates the data when
developing groundwater elevation contour maps.
oo Lawrence Associates (consultant for Neenah Paper Company monitored
eleven wells, TH-1 through TH-11, on April 6, 2009 (Table 2).
3.1.2 Groundwater Sample Collection
ECM collected groundwater samples from each of the wells listed in Table 3 of the
MRP per the sampling frequencies specified for each well. ECM samples additional
monitoring wells installed after July 2005, which are not listed in the MRP, on a
quarterly basis. The table below can be used as a reference for the tabulated data
summaries presented in this report.
3
