1 <br />' D <br /> Mohr-Fry Ranches <br /> 950 Industrial Drive, Stockton, California O <br /> 7,995 <br />' Phase III Remedial Excavation Report <br /> ES <br />' 1.0 Project Identification <br />' This project has been developed to further investigate former underground storage tank <br /> facilities at the Mohr-Fry Ranches property located at 950 Industrial Drive in Stockton, <br /> California(Figure 1) This work was conducted to remove contaminated sods at this site <br /> I <br /> 2.0 Site Description and History <br />' On February S, 1991 SEMCO, under permit, removed Mohr-Fry's fuel facility, which <br /> consisted of four underground storage tanks Three of the tanks (550 gallon capacity) <br />' were used for diesel fuel oil, and the other (4,000 gallon capacity) for diesel fuel Soil <br /> samples taken from beneath each of the three smaller tanks disclosed concentrations of <br /> diesel, Toluene, Xylene and Ethyl Benzene Concentrations of diesel only were present in <br /> soil samples taken from beneath each end of the 4000 gallon tank <br /> The Phase I site investigation conducted in February 1992 by WHF Environmental <br /> Consultants included two soil borings, to groundwater, drilled through each of the two <br /> former tank excavations Water samples were checked for floating product and analyzed <br /> for the constituents previously found during the tank removal <br /> All soil samples were non-detect for diesel, benzene, ethyl benzene and xylenes However, <br /> the soil sample taken at 40 feet in depth from beneath the three smaller tanks, B 1-40, <br /> disclosed 9 S ug/kg toluene This sample was taken at the top of the groundwater aquifer <br /> Water in boring B 1 was encountered at approximately 51 foot in depth <br /> All soil samples taken from boring B2 disclosed toluene in varying concentrations The <br /> two water samples were non-detect for 'diesel, benzene, toluene, xylenes and ethyl <br /> benzene Water in boring B2 was encountered at a depth of approximately 55 feet The <br /> top of the aquifer appeared to be at 50 feet in depth <br /> WHF Environmental conducted six soil borings in the vicinity of the former underground <br /> tanks (Figure 2) Two of the borings located adjacent to each of the former underground <br /> storage tanks were developed into monitoring wells A third boring, developed into a <br /> monitoring well, was located towards the south of the two former tank excavations The <br /> additional borings were located around the former tank excavations to help in the lateral <br /> definition of the soil contamination <br />
