Hunter St. <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has <br /> reviewed the August 16 , 1994 Environmental and Geotechnical Assessment Report of the <br /> Underground Fuel Storage Tank Site submitted by Kleinfelder, Inc . for the above referenced <br /> site . <br /> The report states that two borings were drilled as part of an environmental assessment on June <br /> 25 1994 . Contamination was discovered in both borings at a depth of about 18-20 feet. The <br /> amount of contamination discovered at this depth exceeds the maximum allowable level <br /> permitted by the Leaking Underground Fuel Tank (LUFT) manual guidelines . The contamination <br /> discovered is considered an unauthorized release. <br /> Pursuant to Title 23 , Division 3 , Chapter 16 , Article 11 Section 2721 of the California Code of <br /> Regulations (CCR) responsible parties shall comply with the Corrective Action Regulations <br /> whenever there is any reportable unauthorized release. <br /> Corrective action consists of a Preliminary Site Assessment Phase, a Soil and Water <br /> Investigation Phase, a Corrective Action Plan Implementation Phase, and a Verification <br /> Monitoring Phase. Pending the results of the Verification Monitoring Phase , the site may be <br /> classified as suitable for closure . <br /> During the cleanup the site shall comply with the Quarterly Reporting Requirements as stated <br /> in CCR Section 2652(d) , Article 5 , Chapter 16 , Division 3 of Title 23 . This section states that <br /> until the investigation and cleanup are complete, the owner or operator shall submit reports to <br /> the local implementing agency every three months or at more frequent intervals , as specified by <br /> the local implementing agency . The report shall include the results of all investigations and <br /> corrective actions and proposed cleanup actions and a time schedule for implementing the <br /> proposed actions . <br /> At this time , PHS/EHD requires a Site Contamination Workplan or a Preliminary Investigation <br /> and Evaluation Report (PIER) to be submitted within 60 days of the date of this letter in order <br /> A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services <br />
