<br /> By letter dated April 28, 2008, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)
<br /> approved the installation of six monitoring wells at locations illustrated in Figure 9 of
<br /> Investigation Sunnnnary Report and Groundwater Monitoring Work Plan, dated February 6, 2008,
<br /> submitted by Treadwell & Rollo, Inc. (Treadwell & Rollo) on your behalf. In addition to these
<br /> wells, the EHD recommended installing one deep monitoring well in the vicinity of former
<br /> monitoring wells MW- 1 , MW-2, and MW-3 , and screened at approximately seventy to eighty-
<br /> five feet below surface grade (bsg) to assess groundwater potentially in a sand unit encountered in
<br /> soil borings S136 and SB7 . The EHD requested a response to their recommendation by June 27,
<br /> 2008.
<br /> To date, the EHD has not received a response to the recommended deep monitoring well .
<br /> Therefore, the EHD directs that you submit either a revised work plan that includes the
<br /> installation of the deep well, screened between approximately seventy and eighty-five feet bsg, or
<br /> a technical justification for not installing such a well, to the EHD by September 30, 2008 . The
<br /> EHD also directs that you complete the installation of all seven monitoring wells by October 27,
<br /> 2008 ,
