i
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Health & Safety Plan (HSP) was prepared in accordance with the Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR), Title 29, Section 1910. 120. This HSP addresses the anticipated activities
associated with soil and groundwater investigation to be conducted by Treadwell & Rollo at the
Former County Motor Pool Site at 130 North Hunter Street in Stockton, California.
This plan has been written for use by Treadwell & Rollo field personnel who will provide
oversight for the tasks associated soil sampling. The purpose of the HSP is to provide Treadwell
& Rollo field personnel with an understanding of the potential chemical and physical hazards
and health and safety procedures and emergency response to hazards should they occur. All
Treadwell & Rollo personnel assigned to this project must sign the agreement and
acknowledgment sheet (Appendix A) to confirm that they understand and agree to abide by the
provisions of the HSP.
This HSP addresses the safety issues associated with activities involved in the task of collecting
soil and groundwater samples at the Former County Motor Pool Site at 130 North Hunter Street
in Stockton, California. Samples will be collected using a drill rig for soil and groundwater
sampling and a backhoe for shallow soil sampling.
The minimum level of protection for this site is Level D. The potential hazards for employee
exposure to site contaminants and/or air monitoring results will determine the level of protection.
The information in this HSP is provided solely for the protection of the health and safety of
Treadwell & Rollo employees working under the direct supervision and control of Treadwell &
Rollo on this project. Treadwell & Rollo assumes no liability for, or responsibility to, any other
parties for the accuracy or completeness of the information contained herein for any use or
reliance upon this HSP by any other party.
This HSP will be kept onsite during field activities and will be reviewed and updated as
necessary. This HSP must be modified or amended when circumstances or conditions develop
HEALTH& SAFETYPLAN 8 November 2004
TREADWELL & ROLLO, INC.: 1 2597.11 HASP-2
