ThBadweEftft
f
2488 - Standard Practice for Description and Identification of Soils (Visual-Manual Procedure) . Samples
i
will be screened in the field using an organic vapor meter.
1
Samples with indications of contamination will be retained for laboratory analysis. At a minimum, one soil
sample collected at the groundwater table from each boring will be retained for laboratory analysis. Soil
samples will be analyzed for TPH-g and BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8015M/8021 .
Wells MW-5s, MW-5d, MW-6s and MW-6d will be completed as 2-inch schedule 80 PVC wells. Wells
MW-7s and MW-8d are located inside the building, and due to limited overhead clearance and access,
these wells will be completed as 3/a to 1-inch schedule 80 PVC prepacked wells, Surging, bailing, and
pumping will be employed to develop the wells. Well elevations (top of casing) will be surveyed relative
to the existing onsite datum.
Drilling, soil sampling, well installation, and well development will be performed in accordance with the
attached standard operating procedures (Appendix D). Proposed well Construction details are presented
in Appendix E. Samples will be sent to a state-certified laboratory for analysis
using chain-of-custody protocols. Prior to purging, water levels will be measured for the purposes of
constructing groundwater gradient diagrams in both the shallow and deep zones. Groundwater samples
will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, MTBE and fuel oxygenates (EPA Method 8260).
8.3 Monitoring Well Installation and Sampling Schedule
Monitoring well installation will be scheduled with a C-57 licensed driller upon approval of this Work Plan.
Tentatively, the work is scheduled to begin in early March 2008 and will include development of the
newly installed wells and the initial groundwater monitoring event. Monitoring will continue quarterly for
a period of one year,
i
14
25971201 . DGD 6 February 2008
