TMOMMIlBA llo
• Results of the subsurface investigation;
• Well destruction activities; and
3 . A Work Plan for the installation and sampling of three shallow zone and three deep zone
groundwater monitoring wells.
2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND PREVIOUS INVESTIGATIONS
The Site is located in downtown Stockton at 130 North Hunter Street between East Channel and East
Weber Street (Figure 1). Until January 2005, the Site consisted of a large warehouse building that
previously operated as a parking lot and auto service center for San Joaquin County.
` J
In 1996 Fisch Environmental, removed two gasoline USTs (8,000 and 1,000 gallons) from the sidewalk in
front of the Site (Figure 2). The product lines associated with the USTs trended approximately 30,4eet
ti
from the USTs to a pump island located in the building, and these were also removed . Soil contamination
was encountered below the USTs and impacted soil was excavated and disposed of off Site. To evaluate
potential groundwater impacts from the gasoline release, four shallow monitoring wells,MW-1 through ', °
Lt
MW-4 (Figure 2), were installed by Ramage Environmental Inc. (Ramage) in July 2002. From July 2002
until August 2004 the groundwater monitoring ,wells were sampled as part of an ongoing groundwater
+ i
monitoring program conducted under the oversight of the SJCEHD. Results of quarterly monitoring can
be reviewed in the Ramage report titled Groundwater Monitoring Report Second and Third Quarters
2004, San Joaquin County Parking Garage (Ramage, 2004). Historical soil and groundwater sampling
results can be found in Tables 1 and 2. %
Treadwell & Rollo conducted soil and groundwater investigations during 2004 and 2005, and destroyed
the four existing groundwater monitoring wells at the Site in 2005,prior to re-development. Prior to the
well destruction activities in February 2005, Treadwell & Rollo conducted the fourth quarter 2004
groundwater monitoring on 15 December 2004. The results of this quarterly monitoring for the fourth
quarter of 2004 are presented in Section 4.0. Groundwater samples were analyzed for the same analytes
requested by SJCEHD and performed by Ramage during previous monitoring. Well destruction activities
are presented in Section 6.0.
2
25971201 . DGD 6 February 2008
