October 6, 2004
NOA Project Number: LE03-034
8.2 Record Keeping During Sampling
' All water samples and QA/QC samples will be collected in accordance with U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) methodology, including the strict use of Chain-of-Custody forms, EPA
procedures, and properly labeled containers.
Each sample container will be labeled using the following alphanumeric protocol:
—NOA (to indicate Neil O. Anderson&Assoc., Inc.)
—Indicate Monitoring well with number (MW 1,MW2 or MW3)
—Six digit date that the water sample was obtained.
—Alpha characters A through Z for each individual sample container required.
As an example,if the water sample is obtained from MW-1 on November 15, 2004, the individual
container will be labeled NOA MW 1 111504 A.
The samples will be immediately labeled, and placed into ice chests with ice for transportation to the
Precision Enviro-Tech Analytical Laboratory, located at 7743 West Ln#B2, Stockton, California.
8.3 QA/QC
QA/QC procedures will be used to rne the potential for contamination of ground water
samples taken from the monitoring wells. The QA/QC procedures include the use of disposable
bailers, decontamination of the sampling pumps before sampling (if needed), changing latex
protective gloves after each sampling event, and recording sample information on chain-of-custody
forms before leaving the field.
Analytical Laboratory QA/QC procedures will be typical of those used to meet all state and federal
mandates. QA/QC measures in the laboratory setting may include duplicate, spike, and standard
reference sample analysis.
9.0 Chain of Custody
The samples will be submitted under the Chain of Custody protocol.
10.0 Sample Handling and Transport
The samples will be transported on ice directly to the laboratory. The samples will be carried inside
the vehicle or in the vehicle trunk. The chain of custody protocols will be followed.
'1
6
f
