NEIL O. ANDERSON
A N D A Sr S O C I A T E S
' A71effe7C011 COMPANY
SITE VISIT/OBSERVATIONS
DW-2
' PLATE 9
Project Name NOA Drywell Closure Inspection Date 04/01/2014
Job Number LZV140001 Field Work Time 07:00 — 17:30
' Street Industrial Way City Lodi, CA
Client NOA Contact 209.367.3701
' YES ❑NO ® (Use back of
Geologist Heather Shaddox Additional Info form)
SUMMARY OF SITE OBSERVATIONS:
Purpose of site activities are to close (2) on-site drywells used for Fog Curing Concrete System drainage. Wells
will be destructed by overdrilling. Soil and groundwater sampling will be performed in the center of the wells,
starting 1-2 feet below the extent of the wells. Well destruction and sampling activities will be performed in
accordance with the Revised Drywell Closure and Investigation Work Plan, dated March 18, 2014 and revised
' March 20, 2014, prepared by NOA.
Destruction and sampling of the eastern well (DW-2) was performed on April 1, 2014. The western well (DW-1)
was destructed and sampled on March 28, 2014. The eastern well was over-drilled using a 12-inch hollow stem
auger until 47 feet bgs. Depth of casing was determined to be 40 feet bgs. At 47 feet bgs, switched to 8-inch
hollow stem auger. Soil sampling sleeves and groundwater containers were pre-chilled in ice chests. Borehole
logs were taken once soil sampling began and logging of native material was possible. The first soil samples
were taken at 51 feet bgs ("B2@51'-I" and "B2@51'-II'). Soil samples were then taken every 5 feet until
groundwater was encountered. Soil samples were collected at 55 feet bgs ("B2@55'-I") and at 60 feet bgs
("B2@60'-II'. In general, the soil samples from the bottom of the sampler were collected because those
contained the most sample. The following groundwater samples were collected: "W2-I" for VOCs, "W2-II" for
SVOCs, "W2-III" for RCRA Metals, "W2-IV" for TPH-Gas, "W2-V" for TPH-Diesel, and "W2-VI" for TRPH. In
addition, a replicate groundwater sample was collected and split between two (2) identical containers, labeled:
"W2-VII-A" and "W2-VII-B", to be analyzed for RCRA Metals. Groundwater pH, temperature, EC, TDS, and DO
were analyzed using a field meter. The eastern well was then grouted using Portland Cement Type II/IV. Both
drywells were then covered and the area will later be cemented.
Inspector Signature
' LODI • SACRAMENTO • CONCORD
CORPORATE 902 Industrial Way • Lodi,CA 95240 • 209.367.3701 • FAX 209.333.8303
