It will be the individual' responsibility to bring to the attention of the <br /> Project Director or Safety Officer any portion of this plana d related training they do not fully understand. <br /> Prior to the commencement of the field portion of this investigation, the field team will meet to discuss the <br /> contents of this plan and make sure all members understand it. <br /> At the site meeting, all field team members will be instructed regarding the health and safety <br /> hazards. Especially: <br /> • Physical safety hazards. <br /> • Emergency procedures. <br /> 0 Ex losive/ <br /> p flammability hazards. <br /> • The hazardous materials that may be encountered and their potential routes of exposure. <br /> • Personal hygiene practices. <br /> i The types, proper use, inspection, limitations, maintenance,, and storage of protective <br /> clothing and equipment (as applicable). <br /> • In the event that the ambient air temperature exceeds 85°F, a review of heat stress <br /> symptom recognition/corrective procedure will be conducted. For an unacclimatized <br /> person, this value may be less. <br /> Special emphasis will concern the use and limitations of respiratory protection. Half-mask <br /> respirators (or equivalent) equipped with air purifying organic vapor cartridges will be used. Full-face <br /> respirators will be used if eye irritation or skin contact exposure potential exists. <br /> Medical/physical fitness requirements to wear resl iratory protection, will be established by a � <br /> physician, and individuals will be trained in use limitations and maintenance of half-mask and full-face <br /> respirators including qualitative fit testing, routine inspection, replacement of parts, cleaning, disinfection, <br /> and storage requirements. <br /> 1 . <br /> Copies of this entire plan will be provided for each fr !d team member at the project site, or prior <br /> to arrival. <br /> KRAZAN & ASSOCIATES, INC. <br /> Offices Serving the Western 7 <br /> ited States 94276.HSP <br /> k <br />
