! Project No. 014-94276
Page No. 3
use or were damaged, Boston Market and the San Joaqui i County Environmental Health Department
q (EHD) had requested that the wells be destroyed.
y 6.0 PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATION
` The purpose of the investigation was to destroy mc nitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-6 in
accordance with State and County standards.
 r
7.0 SCOPE OF THE INVESTIGATION
i
The scope of the investigation was Iimited to the de truction of monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2,
and MW-6. Because the construction specifications of wells MW-1 and MW-2 were known and because
., the wells were constructed to State and County standards, the se wells were destroyed by pressure grouting
the well casings. Monitoring well MW-6 had been damaged therefore, that well was destroyed by over-
drilling the well and tremmie grouting the borehole.
t .
8.0 MONITORING WELL DESTRUCTION
1
Prior to the commencement of the field activities all necessary approvals and permits were
i
obtained from the San Joaquin County (DENS). Copies of the well destruction permit issued by the San
Joaquin County DEHS are provided in Appendix C. The three monitoring wells were destroyed in
accordance with the San Joaquin County DENS Well Standards and Ordinance Number 3675, and DWR j
r Bulletin Numbers 74-81 and 74-90. Ms. Margaret Lagorio of the San Joaquin County DEHS was present
at the time of the well destructions. Copies of the DWR Well Destruction Reports for each of the wells, j
which were forwarded to the DWR by Boston Market, are provided in Appendix B. Please refer to Figure
2 for the location of the monitoring wells.
Because construction specification of monitoring well MW-I and MW-2 were known, and because
the wells were constructed to State and County standards, these wells were destroyed by pressure grouting
the well casings. Construction specifications of the monitorifig wells are provided in Appendix A. Prior
KRAZAN&ASSOCIATES, INC.
Offices Serving the Western V rtited States
9az7e.sc
