' No Further Action Request
Boyett Petroleum,419 S.Main Street,Manteca
October 7,2DO5
' Page 2
• groundwater was measured at approximately 17 feet bgs, Two soil samples were collected from the
borehole at depths of 43.5 feet and 50 feet for laboratory analyses.
On October 20 through 23, 2003, Condor conducted agroundwater investigation using direct push boring
methods. Condor supervised the completion of four deep CPT boring pairs (CPT-3 through CPT-6) and
' five shallow hydropunch borings (HP-1 through HP-5). Borings CPT-3, CPT-4, and CPT-6 were
advanced to depths of approximately 125 feet bgs; boring CPT-5 encountered refusal and was terminated
at a depth of approximately 66 feet bgs. At each deep boring pair location, the first boring was advanced
' to provide a near-continuous log of the subsurface soil profile. The second boring at each pair location
was advanced proximal to the first boring to collect discrete depth groundwater samples from saturated
horizons identified in geologic logs from the first borings. One soil sample was collected from each of
' borings CPT-3 through CPT-5 from immediately above a clay horizon defined in each boring's lithologic
profile. Five hydropunch borings were advanced to collect groundwater grab samples to investigate the
lateral extent of contamination in shallow groundwater cross- and down-gradient of the plume.
' On October 29, 2003, Condor supervised the destruction of monitoring wells MW-1, MW4, and MW-5.
On October 30, 2003, three four-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells (MW-4R, MW-10, and
' MW-11) and one four-inch diameter extraction well (EW-1) were installed. Detailed site background
information is in Appendix B.
3.0 NO FURTHER ACTION REQUEST CHECKLIST ITEMS
This section addresses the items in Table 1 —Checklist of Required Data for No Further Action Requests
at Underground Tank Sites from Appendix B Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary
' • Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites. The completed checklist is in Appendix I.
1. Distance to production wells within 2,000 feet of the site. Three production wells were identified
within 2,000 feet of the site. The locations of the wells are shown on Figure 3, Appendix A. A
domestic well (W-1 on Figure 3, Appendix A) is located at 144 W. Wetmore Street, approximately
500 feet west of the site. Condor obtained permission from the property owner to sample the well at
this location. TPH-G, BTEX, and gasoline additives where not detected at or above the laboratory
' reported detection limits in the water sample collected from the well. A municipal well (W-2 on
Figure 3, Appendix A) is located at 323 Jessie Avenue, approximately 1,500 feet west of the site. One
drinking water well (W-3 on Figure 3, Appendix A) is located at Manteca High School,
approximately 1,800 feet northeast of the site.
2. Site maps of area impacted. A site map (Figure 2) that shows the locations of monitor wells is in
' Appendix A.The following are included in Appendix C.
a. The locations of soil boring S13-1 and SB-2, and the locations of the soil samples collected
' from beneath the product dispensers, are shown on Figures 3 and 4 from the Underground
Storage Tank Preliminary Investigation Report of Findings dated October 23, 1998, prepared
by WHR
' b. The locations of borings CPT-I and CPT-2 are shown on Figure 3 from the Final Report Of
Findings for Lateral Extent of Groundwater Contamination dated June 29, 2001,prepared by
WHF.
' c. The locations of borings CPT-3, CPT-4, CPT-5, CPT-6, HP-1, HP-2, HP-3, HP-4, and HP-5
are shown on Figure 3 from the Additional Groundwater Investigation, Monitoring Well
ko
' ", CONDOR
