Boyett Petroleum, Inc.
419 S Main Street, Manteca, CA May 9, 2000
Receptor Survey Page: 4
' ■ Well # 13 approximately 2,500' to the southeast.
■ Well # 19 approximately 3,200' east.
The only public receptors within the two thousand (2,000) foot radius that could
be affected by the groundwater contamination at the subject property are the
improvements installed by the City of Manteca. These improvements include the
' sanitary system and the storm drain system. These improvements will can be
affected if they are installed beneath the groundwater table and have damage that
would allow for infiltration of groundwater into the system.
The State of California Department of Water Resources (Appendix A) identified
one (1) private irrigation well within the two thousand (2,000) foot radius. The
' well was installed in 1989 and is located along Park Avenue (west of the subject
site). This well was installed for Morrison Homes during the development of a
new subdivision. The City of Manteca was contacted to acquire further
' information regarding this well. During an interview with City of Manteca officials
on May 5, 2000, it was discovered that this well does not exist at the location on
' the well driller's log provided by the State. They (City of Manteca) believe that
the address of this "irrigation well" is incorrect. The City of Manteca believes that
the true location of this well is near the intersection of Union and Wawona Street.
' According to the City of Manteca, this well has been closed. A private well search
was conducted by the City of Manteca to determine if any other known private
wells are located in the vicinity of 419 S. Main Street, Manteca. The results of this
search indicated that no known private wells are located within a 2,000' radius of
the subject site (Appendix B).
On May 5, 2000, a representative from WIT performed a physical site inspection
of the property and the surrounding area to confirm the absence of additional wells
within the 2000' radius study area. No additional wells were discovered during
this investigation.
4.0 Conclusions
' There is one (1) known receptor identified within the two thousand (2,000) foot radius
that could be at risk for receiving groundwater contamination from the Boyett Petroleum
facility located at 419 S. Main Street, Manteca, California. This well is identified as City
' of Manteca Water Well # 5.
s
•
