Label on one 55-gallon drum of used oil filters is faded and could not be read. Used oil filters must <br /> be stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an <br /> accumulation start date. Immediately ensure all used oil filters are managed in this way. <br /> 611. Interview with owner indicated the above-mentioned used oil filters had been on site longer than <br /> one year. Facilities that generate up to one ton of used oil filters per year may store the filters up to one <br /> year. Immediately recycle these filters under a bill of lading and submit a copy of the bill of lading to the <br /> EHD by 12/16/2013. <br /> NOTES <br /> The facility generated less than 5 tons of hazardous waste in 2012, but has not disposed anything during <br /> that year. Facility retails construction soil materials, and generates used oil only for oil changing of <br /> company trucks. Facility has been re-categorized as Used-Oil Only in EHD hazardous waste generator <br /> inventory beginning 2014. <br /> Discussed with generator Universal Waste management requirements including aerosol cans, lamps, <br /> alkaline batteries, mercury containing switches, CRT, electronic devices, etc. in a closed container with a <br /> method to identify the content and the start date of accumulation. Universal Wastes must be managed <br /> within 1 year of accumulation, and the disposal records maintained on site for at least 3 years. <br /> Observed generator posted An emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan on site. An <br /> emergency coordinator and modified contingency plan information is lacking. There must be at least <br /> one emergency coordinator on site or on call to coordinate emergency response measures, and the <br /> following information must be posted by a phone: the name and phone number of the emergency <br /> coordinator; location of fire extinguishers, spill control equipment, and if present, fire alarm; and the <br /> phone number of the fire department, unless the facility has a direct alarm. <br /> Assisted generator in completion of CERS electronic submittal requirement.
